Currently the production servers are hosted at a data center in NY, but it occurred to me that if I made any money off of this application that I might get a letter from the state government of New York informing me that I owed them money. It may be that according to the current laws that I wouldn't have to worry about it, but laws can change.
I'm in Virginia, and if the servers were hosted here then I wouldn't have to worry about paying two states. DigitalOcean's U.S. data centers are in New York and California, so I spent a lot of time trying to find a hosting service that offered virtual computers that I can configure myself and which have data centers in Virginia, but after a long and fruitless search, I gave up on Virginia. I ended up trying Vultr.com because they have a data center in Florida. Florida doesn't have an individual income tax, so until Friend of Learning becomes a corporate entity (again), I won't have to worry about a tax bill (other than the one I have to pay Virginia each year).
I started out setting up a development environment, but so far nothing has just worked like I expected it to. There always seems to be a problem. This time it had to do with installing the database, and with getting an SSL certificate. I resolved the database problem, but the certificate will have to wait until tomorrow. I made too many failed attempts within a certain time.
Another activity that took up some time today was installing the ClamAV anti-virus program on the production file server. I only had 1GB of RAM, and I got repeated errors. I found out that I needed more RAM, so I had to resize the virtual server. Naturally, I resized the wrong one to start with, so I had to re-resize it, then resize the correct one.
So there was progress today, but as always it's not as much as I was hoping for.
Dr. Drew interviewed Scott Adams recently, and Scott Adams mentioned the absurdity that Republicans went to overthrow the government on Jan 6, but they neglected to bring their guns. On the first or second anniversary of the event, that alleged oversight made the narrative appear absurd to me, so I made a "video" that was supposed to be audio from January 6, captured on a video camera from which the lens cap had not been removed. I'm posting it again just because.
While I was waiting on hold to talk with a human at the IRS, I decided to put some food out for the dogs. I set the full bag of dog food on a chair, and walked away to get the bowls. When I turned around I saw the bag slowly tipping over, spilling much of its contents onto the floor. Fortunately I had help cleaning it up.

If the main points of this theory are correct, it will be the largest paradigm shift in physics in several centuries. If history is any guide, I'm not likely to live long enough to see it become adopted, but participating with several AI in bringing the theory this far has been a great privilege.
